I graduated in 1987 from Forestburg ISD. I then went on to NCTC and received my Associates Degree. After that, I moved to Wichita Falls, TX to attend MSU and graduated in 1993 with a BA in Political Science.

I have teaching certifications in 4-8 Core studies, 7-12 History, and K-12 Special Education
This past summer I went to several professional development classes at Region 9 in Wichita Falls, TX. This year I am apart of the HRS Leadership Team. We are working very hard to certify our school as a Highly Reliable School (HRS) level one.
This is my 5th year with the District and my 3rd year of teaching 5th and 6th ELA and Social Studies. I have really enjoyed teaching this grade level and look forward to many more years here at Forestburg.
I have been married for 22 years to Rick Balthrop, who just retired this year. We have one son, Levi Balthrop, who graduated this past year from Forestburg. Levi is now working full time and attending NCTC majoring in Criminal Justice.
I really love to cook and often incorparate cooking and food into my lessons. While studying the colonial times, I made the kids a turkey stew and fried corn bread. They loved it!
I enjoy time with my family and traveling.
