Dual Credit
Taking Dual Credit courses allows a student to offset some of the college expenses by taking college level courses while still in high school. Dual Credit allows a student to take a college course and receive both High School and College Credit for the course.
Dual Credit courses are through North Central Texas College NCTC.
Dual Credit courses can be completed online or in person.
Why take Dual Credit?
Save Money
Forestburg ISD currently reimburses the student up to half of the curriculum cost for dual credit courses, saving time and money in their pursuit of an education after high school graduation.
Academically Stimulating
Dual credit courses are rigorous courses designed to provide a more advanced curriculum than high school courses.
College-level courses provide a deeper understanding of a subject.
Learn Responsibility
Dual credit college course work helps instill responsibility.
Students learn how to use a class syllabus and are responsible for doing all the coursework assigned by the instructor.
Instructors expect students to turn assignments in by their due dates.
Students are responsible for asking for aditional help from their instructors when they are in need of further understanding of subjects.
