We are pleased to announce that Forestburg High School Class of 2020 will be honored with an outdoor graduation ceremony! In accordance with Gov. Abbott’s Open Texas report, and following the guidelines of the Texas Education Agency’s requirements for graduation ceremonies conducted during May 2020, the following plan has been put into place.

Even though Graduation will be different this year due to COVID-19 safety guidelines, we are committed to making every effort possible to make this a special event for the Senior Class.

WHEN:  Friday, May 22nd @7:00 pm (Backup dates May 24th or 25th)

WHERE:   Longhorn Stadium

WHO CAN ATTEND?:  Only 5 family members with a reservation may sit on the field.

Plus an additional 2 cars  with family members and friends

GRADUATION DAY PROCESS:

6:00-6:15: Graduates and their family members who have reserved seating on the field must arrive in the same car for COVID-19 Screening and assigned seating.

6:20-6:50: Family and friends who have reserved a parking spot must arrive for COVID-19 Screening and assigned parking.

7:00: Ceremony begins

THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS AVAILABLE!!

· Anyone who shows signs or symptoms of COVID-19 during their screening will be denied entry into the graduation ceremony along with everyone in the vehicle with them

· Anyone attempting to attend the graduation ceremony without a reservation will be denied entry.

· Please leave the facility and parking area immediately after the ceremony.

During these trying times, public gatherings are limited.

No one will be allowed to leave their vehicles to interact with any graduates.

For a more detailed description of the safety precautions being implemented please read the protocol listed below.

Graduation attendance will be by reservation ONLY!

· Graduation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 7:00 pm. (Backup dates May 24th or 25th)

Family members attending the ceremony will be limited and must make a reservation in advance.  All family groups will be given a scheduled time of arrival for screening of COVID-19 symptoms. There will be no rehearsal, and graduates must arrive with their family group. 

A gate monitor will be responsible for screening all attendees utilizing a health questionnaire provided by the Texas Education Agency, before being allowed entrance to the facility. If anyone in the vehicle is  showing possible signs/symptoms of the COVID-19 virus the entire car load of passengers will be denied entrance to the graduation ceremony.

· Seating Considerations:

Graduates will be seated 6 feet apart on the football field.

Graduates will be limited to 5 guests seated on the field. Members of the same household will be allowed to sit together but must remain 6 feet away from all other family groups at all times . 

Graduates will be allowed a 2 car load limit of additional guests, but occupants of the car must remain inside the vehicle at all times.

Vehicles will have reserved parking on the field sidelines/track for closer viewing.

We suggest anyone in attendance over the age of 65, or who is immunocompromised remain inside their vehicle during the graduation ceremony.

 FISD staff members that will be working with attendees will wear a protective face mask. 

 A law enforcement officer has been hired to provide additional security.

 Hand sanitizing stations will be set up and readily available to all attendees. 

 Diplomas will not be distributed person to person, and there will be no handshaking or rose presentations to family members.

 Students will pick up their individual diploma, from a table, as they cross the stage. 

 The speakers will be limited to the Valedictorian, a guest speaker and one announcer.

THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS AVAILABLE!!

No congregating will be allowed after the graduation ceremony.

Please leave the facility and parking area immediately upon conclusion of the ceremony.
