Governor Issues New COVID Order

Out of an abundance of caution it has been determined that FISD will continue to require masks been worn on campus until further notice. The safety of our community is our top priority and we will continue to monitor the latest health information from local officials to determine when the mask requirement can be safely lifted. Please refer to Forestburg ISD social media and the official website for updates in the District’s plan.

Original post, March 3, 2021:

Governor Abbott has issued an Executive Order that lifts COVID-19 mask mandates and allows businesses to open at 100% in Texas starting March 10th.  The Governor has allowed Mike Morath, the Commissioner of Education for TEA , to hold a special called meeting Thursday March 4th to give direction on masks for public education.  We will know more on the wearing of masks after this meeting.  The superintendents from Montague County will also meet to discuss this situation.   More information will be sent out on this matter, but until then we will continue to wear our masks and practice social distancing.

Thank You.
